This is possibly my favourite sushi place in Kingston. I like Sima, but the crowded seating was getting too uncomfortable. So I decided to try Sushi Ya across the street, and I'm so glad I did!
The restaurant was clean and well decorated. Servers were nice and took good care of us. The small sashimi party platter was the perfect amount for two people, and I enjoyed the diverse selection of fish presented. I'm usually very picky when it comes to sashimi, but this place provided very fresh fish. Excellent knife work. -

This is a decent sushi spot. The fish we had was well prepared. Negatives are a server who really didn't know sushi / sashimi and a limited selection of sashimi. We also tried the spicy bulgogi bowl and it was good. Beer selection is typical Japanese (i.e. not great).

I walked for 30 mins in kingston downtown on a Sunday night at 9pm and this was the first one that looked edible to me and was still open. I guess people here go to bed at this hour. Very nice dinner actually, Ikura on my bowl was generous for the $$.

Chicken Teriyaki
First of all, this doesn't even look appetizing....the taste is way too sweet and the chicken is kind of chewy in texture. Not to mention, it's freaking warm....shouldn't it at least be hot? I m not even asking for it to be sizzling.
Oh, by the way, the hot tea is 3 dollars per person. The waiter told me it's hand-made, which I tasted like it came from a tea-bag where the whole pack doesn't even cost more than 4 dollars. -

My favourite sushi is Kingston hands-down. Everything is so fresh. The sashimi bento is perfect. Agedashi tofu is amazing. The owners are really nice people and the service is great.
